American Heart Month

February is American Heart Month and according to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, heart disease is the leading cause of death for both men and women in the United States. Every year, one in four deaths are caused by heart disease. But, heart disease can often be prevented by making healthy choices and managing health conditions. To help lower your risk of heart disease, you can get active by checking out one of JMRL’s fit kits.

Here are a few books (both fiction and non-fiction) about hearts available in our catalog:
Tell Me How Long the Train’s Been Gone by James Baldwin
Leave Me by Gayle Foreman
The End of Heart Disease: The Eat to Live Plan to Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease by Joel Fuhrman
Heart: A History by Sandeep Jauhar
All the Houses by Karen Olsson
The Amorous Heart: An Unconventional History of Love by Marilyn Yalom
